Did you know that the East Indians have considerably lower rates of cancer? Here is what Dr. Carolyn Anderson says about this fact.
The East Indians are less likely to develop cancer although they are more exposed to carcinogens in their environment that people in the West.
As she was researching the literature on cancer prevention and treatment, she found statistics that struck her as lightning. The ratios are as following:
– The East Indians have 1/5 as many breast cancers as North Americans at the same age!
– The East Indians have 1/8 as many lung cancers as North Americans at the same age!
– The East Indians have 1/9 as many colon cancers as North Americans at the same age!
– The East Indians have 1/50 our rate at prostate cancer!
What is the reason for this significant difference in cancer rates?
There are three answers according to Dr. Anderson:
1. Turmeric is a spice that does miracles
If you have never seen or tried turmeric, it is a yellow powdered spice, made from the root of a plant in East India. It is one of the components of yellow curry. It enriches flavor and also is added to malts, yogurts and other foods.
Turmeric includes potent anti-inflammatory characteristics. There is not any other food ingredient that is more effective in decreasing inflammation in the body.
Curcumin is the ingredient in the turmeric that is responsible for this effect. It restrains the development of many cancers, like colon, prostate, ovarian, breast and brain cancer. It also reduces the development of new blood vessels that feed the tumor.
2. Scientists should not overlook this folk remedy
This spice has been used in India, China and the Middle East for more than two millenniums.
Bharat Aggarwal, a professor from Houston, Texas was the first scientist that showed that curcumin is very helpful against cancer. He showed the extraordinary effects of this ingredient on breast cancer tumors inserted onto mice, even when these tumors didn’t react to chemotherapy anymore. Only a regular dietary dose or curcumin lowered the increase of metastases in these mice.
We all should be consuming turmeric, but how and how often?
3. Increase the anti-Inflammatory benefits of turmeric
Sometimes, combining foods can increase the benefit. When turmeric is consumed by itself, or in capsule form, is very weakly absorbed through the intestine. When turmeric is combined with pepper or ginger, as in yellow curry, it will pass the intestinal obstruction.
The body absorption of turmeric is increased by 2000% when mixed with pepper. Also, it must be dissolved in olive oil.
This is the formula that does miracles:
Needed ingredients:
- ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Half a teaspoon of olive oil
- Pinch of black pepper
Mix all the above mentioned ingredients.
The mixture can be added in soups, salad dressings, vegetables or cooked meats.
The best option to consume the mixture is as often as you can.
